If your pet was particularly beloved to your family, sometimes no action can seem enough when that pet passes. After all, many people have funerals for their pets, and some of those individuals even cremate the pet who has recently passed. But if you feel like you’re having trouble getting closure from this loss, you might want to look into a pendant pet urn. For those of us who have pet memorials in our backyard, it’s important to perform a little maintenance now and then.  It’s natural for outdoor cat and dog memorials to accumulate a little grit as well as growth including moss and lichen.  For smaller pet memorials, the best method to clean is with a toothbrush.  While this might seem tedious, a toothbrush with a little soap and water is able to clean in the cracks and other indented areas of the pet memorial.  Depending on the texture of the pet memorial, it might also be possible to wipe it with a cloth rag to remove most of the dirt and grit.  For serious moss infestations, it’s also possible to put moss killer on the pet memorial, but this should be used as a last resort. 

With just a little maintenance at the beginning or end of the year, your pet memorial will remain clean and help to preserve the memory of your favorite dog or cat.  While we might lose some of our best friends throughout life, the memories we have will keep with us for the rest of their lives.
